Ginny Sywyj

My experience with oils began when I attended Monterey Art School in California and I tutored with several well-known artists in the Carmel area.  I have been painting for 50 years.  Since retiring to Southern California, I have entered many online juried exhibits.  I am a member of the Chula Vista Art Guild and the South Bay Front Art Guild, and I was a Commissioner on the Chula Vista Cultural Arts Commission from 2015-2018.

Painting has always been ‘Food for the Soul’ for me, and my approach is driven by color.  I try to create a feeling of the moment, a feeling of the scene, no matter where or how insignificant the composition may seem.  I don’t have one particular style, and my general approach is Impressionistic.  I like to stretch myself with the usage of various techniques and styles.
